Durante el año que pasó comprobé que mi memoria trata de empeorar en vez de mejorar. Pocas cosas recuerdo y como todos los años el propósito de esta lista es no olvidar las cosas que viví en 2013 en mi nueva vida en el viejo mundo y ya que no me gusta la herramienta de Facebook Year Review. Acá está:
- Mi bienvenida al Reino Unido fue muy acogedora con 0 grados y lluvia con agua nieve el primer día. Pero todo lo nuevo sabe a bueno!
- Duré 2 semanas sin celular de cuenta de la diferencia en la frecuencia en la señal
- Aprendí a decir groserías en italiano.
- Mi sobrina nació una semana después de que me fui de Colombia
- Duré sin trabajo 9 meses y sobreviví a punta de fe durante todo ese tiempo.
- Stonehenge son solo piedras, pero había que ir a tomar la foto.
- Conocí personas de los 5 continentes y me nacionalicé suizo.
- Me quedé dormido y me tocó correr 15 cuadras para coger el bus Cambridge.
- Puse mis pies en la mitad del mundo en el Meridiano cero de Greenwich.
- Jugué ping pong al menos 1 vez por semana aun así y sigo siendo muy malo.
- Aprendí a cocinar comida Tailandesa y mexicana.
- Mi reacción al ver la nieve fue cerrar las cortinas y poner el calentador.
- Volví a la actuación y participé de una obra de teatro al aire libre con 0 grados de temperatura.
- Sorprendentemente leí cuatro libros completos, todos en inglés.
- Decir adiós a nuevos amigos fue un tema de todos los días.
- Escalé los Siete Riscos en Eastborne en mi primer día soleado en 3 meses.
- Seguí tocando el piano cada semana.
- Conocí el castillo donde vive Doña Chava su majestad la Reina de Inglaterra.
- Fui dos veces al Museo de historia natural de Oxford y dos veces estaba cerrado.
- Conocí a la gente más amable y acogedora en la iglesia la Viña.
- Una noche comí tanto al punto de enfermarme y vomitar.
- Fui aceptado en 3 diferentes universidades del Reino Unido
- Mi examen de inglés fue exitoso con resultado de una persona casi persona nativa.
- Increíble que solo 4 meses después fui a visitar Londres viviendo a solo una hora.
- Celebré mi cumpleaños presentando mi país a un grupo de 40 estudiantes internacionales. Todos quedaron antojados de visitar Colombia.
- Mi celebración de cumpleaños atrasada corrió por cuenta de mis dos amigas Americanas que me prepararon torta casera, un asado y tarjetas de felicitación.
- Volví a tocar la batería después de tantos años sin practicar.
- En Thorpe Park descubrí que no le tengo miedo a las montañas rusas sino a las cosas que dan vueltas.
- En verano toda la alegría queda contenida en 17 horas de luz de día.
- Me estrené como guía turístico con 25 personas en Londres. Solo perdí la mitad del grupo pero estuvo bien para ser la primer vez.
- Hice todos los trabajos que ha hecho mi padre, pintor, jardinero, albañil y negociante.
- Una de las fiestas en la casa de estudiantes dejó el saldo de la policía por el ruido, 3 personas en urgencias y el cierre de la casa.
- Conocí la iglesia de Hillsong en Londres y fue más de lo que esperaba.
- Me gradué de la escuela de ingés incluso cuando no iba sino 2 dias a la semana
- Me tomé una fría cerveza alemana para el calor del verano en Frankfurt.
- Pasé un mes en Colombia visitando mi familia antes de volver a estudiar.
- Vi morir a una mujer en un hospital
- Volví a mi adicción a Twitter, ahora con el doble de seguidores.
- De vuelta a Heatrow me retuvieron 30 minutos por sospechas de cargar heroína.
- Empecé mi maestría en la Universidad de Brighton.
- Empecé a trabajar como promotor y guía turístico.
- Traduje algunos de mis poemas a inglés y escribí uno nuevo en ese idioma.
- Dejé un poco al lado mi lado cinéfilo y empecé a seguir varias series de televisión.
- Pasé una noche loca en La alborada de Bonfire Night en Lewes
- Tuve un módulo uno a uno con un PhD sin pagar más.
- Me volví representante de curso para mi programa en la universidad.
- Me convertí en Bloguero de la revista KienyKe hasta ahora con 5 artículos y más de 4mil vistas.
- Resulté en el aeropuerto de Gatwick a las 930PM con 25 personas tratando de llevarlos de vuelta a Brighton.
- Pasé navidad con una familia inglesa y año nuevo en Escocia en un hotel 4 estrellas.
- No fui a ver fútbol
- Fui a patinar en Hielo por primera vez.
- No dibujé nada.
- Me metí al mar con 5 grados de temperatura.
- Vi mi primera estrella fugáz.
- Dormí en McDonalds una noche.
- Besé a una desconocida.
- Me regalaron un IPhone y una guitarra.
- No dormí varias noches.
- Este año tampoco pude ver la estación espacial internacional pero estuve cerca.
During 2013 I realized that my memory is getting worse
instead of getting better. Few things remember
of my previous life. Like every year, the purpose of this list is not to forget
the things that I lived in 2013. Since I don’t like the “Facebook Year Review tool”.
Here it is:
1. My welcome to the UK was very cozy with 0 degrees, rain
and snow the first day. However everything tastes good at the first time!
2. I was two weeks without mobile phone because the frequency
of the signal was different in the UK.
3. I learned to swear in Italian.
4. My niece was born a week after I left Colombia
5. I was unemployed for nine months and survived just with
faith during that time.
6. Stonehenge are just stones, but had to go to take the
picture.
7. I met people from 5 continents and I became Swiss .
8. I fell asleep and I had to run 15 blocks to catch the bus
to Cambridge.
9. I put my feet in the middle of the world at the zero
meridian in Greenwich.
10. I played ping pong at least once a week and yet I'm
still very bad at it.
11. I learned to cook Thai and Mexican food.
12. My reaction when I saw the first time snow was closing the
curtains and putting the heating on.
13 . I went back to acting and I participated in the passion
play outdoors with 0 degrees.
14 . Surprisingly I read four complete books, all in
English.
15 . Saying goodbye to new friends was a every day thing.
16 . I climbed the Seven Sisters at Eastborne in the first
sunny day in 3 months.
17 . I kept playing the piano each week.
18 . I went to the Windsor castle where Her Majesty the
Queen of England lives.
19 . I went twice to the Natural History Museum in Oxford
and it was closed twice.
20 . I met the friendliest and welcoming people in my new
church the Brighton Vineyard.
21 . One night I ate so much to the point of getting sick
and vomiting.
22 . I was accepted in 3 different UK universities
23 . My English test was successful with a score of 7.0.
24 . Only 4 months later I went to visit London living just
an hour away from there.
25 . I celebrated my birthday with a presentation of my
country to a group of 40 international students. All were very keen on visiting
Colombia.
26 . My delayed birthday celebration was handled by my two
American friends and My host family who prepared me homemade cake, a BBQ and gave
me greeting cards.
27 . I went back to drumming after so many years without
practicing.
28 . In Thorpe Park discovered that I have not scared of
roller coasters but things that spin.
29 . In summer all the joy is contained in 17 hours of
daylight.
30 . I started working as a tour guide with 25 people in
London. I lost half of the group but I was fine for the first time.
31 . I did all the jobs made by my father: Painter, Gardener, Builder and Businessman.
32 . One of the parties at the student house left the
balance of the council complaining about the noise, an ambulance and two people
in the emergency.
33 . I went to the Hillsong Church in London and it was more
than I expected.
34 . I graduated from The Language School even when I was
attending just two days a week
35 . I drank a cold German beer, perfect for the summer heat
in Frankfurt.
36 . I spent a month in Colombia visiting my family before
returning to University.
37 . I saw a woman die in a hospital
38 . I went back to my addiction to Twitter , now with
double followers.
39 . Back at Heathrow I was retained for 30 minutes suspected
to carrying heroin.
40 . I started my master's degree at the University of Brighton.
41 . I started working as a promoter and tour guide.
42 . I translated some of my poems into English and wrote a
new one in that language.
43 . I started following several television series and became a Sherlock fan.
44 . I spent a weird night at Lewes Bonfire Night .
45 . I had a module one on one with a Ph.D. without paying
more.
46 . I became course Rep. for my program at the university.
47 . I became a blogger for the magazine KienyKe so far with
5 entries and over 4 thousand views.
48 . I Was stranded at Gatwick airport at 930pm with 25
people trying to bring them back to Brighton.
49 . I spent Christmas with an English family and New Year
in Scotland in a 4 star hotel.
50 . I didn’t go to watch football
51 . I went ice skating for the first time .
52 .I didn’t draw anything.
53 . I got into the sea in the night with 5 degrees of
temperature.
54 . I saw my first shooting star.
55 . I slept one night at McDonalds .
57 . I got an iPhone and a guitar as a present.
58 . I did not sleep several nights.
59 . This year I didn’t see the international space station
but I was close.
